Termite treatment and control in Canton, Ball Ground, Woodstock and Marietta, GA. Are They a Serious Threat?

Are Termites Really a Serious Threat in Cherokee and Cobb County, Ga?

With springtime approaching in Cherokee and Cobb counties, the sounds of baseball, soccer, and outdoor fun is in the air.  While kids big and small gear up for their springtime activities, there is a threat lying in wait.  Lurking underground, silently targeting your home, is a nasty little insect called subterranean termites.  They typically show up unaware to homeowners and business owners and have one thing on their minds… EAT YOU OUT OF HOUSE AND HOME!

Did you know Termites are a $5 Billion threat?

Of the termite species throughout the United States, subterranean termites are the type most likely to attack your home. They are social insects that nest in underground colonies. There can be millions of termites in a colony, but you may never see evidence of them until it’s too late. In fact, termites cause more that $5 billion worth of damage each year in the U.S. alone – damage not covered by most homeowner’s insurance. Termites can be in your home for several years with very few visible signs of activity. Without quarterly and annual inspections, termites can go unnoticed for years while continuing to damage your home.

What do termites look like?

Termites are ofter mistaken for flying ants, but there are noticeable differences:

SurGuard Exterminating–Both swarming termites and swarming ants have two pairs of wings. Termites front and hind wings are the same shape and size. However, ants front wings are larger than their hind wings.

–Ants’ antennae are elbowed, while termites’ are straight.

–Ants have a narrow, pinched waist, while termites’ waist are thicker and less defined.

Signs of termite activity.
